Broad, intitulat <strong>&#8222;Doi oameni \u015fi un giroscop pot r\u0103sturna legile lui Newton&#8221;<\/strong>. \u00cen articol, se preciza faptul c\u0103 <em>&#8222;oamenii de \u015ftiin\u0163\u0103 japonezi au dezv\u0103luit faptul c\u0103 un giroscop mic pierde din greutate atunci c\u00e2nd se mi\u015fc\u0103 \u00een anumite condi\u0163ii, contrazic\u00e2nd astfel gravita\u0163ia&#8221;<\/em>. Dac\u0103 acest lucru este corect, descoperirea aceasta putea s\u0103 fie \u00eenceputul unui uimitor salt \u015ftiin\u0163ific.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8222;New York Times&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> citeaz\u0103 num\u0103rul din 18 decembrie 1989 al revistei <strong><em>&#8222;Physical Review Letters&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>, care spune c\u0103 cercetarea a fost condus\u0103 de speciali\u015ftii de la Facultatea de Inginerie a Universit\u0103\u0163ii Thoku din Sendai (Japonia), care au constatat faptul c\u0103 rezultatele lor ce nu puteau fi explicate pe baza teoriilor tradi\u0163ionale.<\/p>\n<p>Experimentul japonezilor analiza schimb\u0103rile de greutate a giroscopului \u00een mi\u015fcare, al c\u0103rui rotor c\u00e2nt\u0103rea 140-176 de grame. C\u00e2nd giroscopul se mi\u015fca \u00een sensul acelor de ceasornic, cercet\u0103torii n-au depistat o schimbare de greutate. Dar c\u00e2nd se mi\u015fca \u00een sensul invers al acelor de ceasornic, acesta p\u0103rea s\u0103 piard\u0103 din greutate. Raportul de greutate era mic, variind cu 11 miimi dintr-un gram, c\u00e2nd giroscopul avea o mi\u015fcare de 13.000 de rota\u0163ii\/minut. Dou\u0103 efecte erau semnificative. Primul: pierderea \u00een greutate se m\u0103rea pe m\u0103sura cre\u015fterii vitezei. Al doilea, acest tipar s-a dovedit mai puternic \u00een ceea ce prive\u015fte un giroscop mai mare, ceea ce indic\u0103 faptul c\u0103 rezultatele pot s\u0103 fie aplicate la obiecte cu dimensiuni mai mari.<\/p>\n<p>Oamenii de \u015ftiin\u0163\u0103 japonezi spuneau c\u0103 m\u0103sur\u0103torile greut\u0103\u0163ii au fost f\u0103cute de 10 ori la viteze cuprinse \u00eentre 10.000 \u015fi 13.000 de rota\u0163ii\/minut. Cercet\u0103torii au examinat posibilele surse de eroare experimental\u0103, incluz\u00e2nd c\u00e2mpuri magnetice, vibra\u0163ii \u015fi defecte ale giroscopului sale ale sistemelor de m\u0103surare. De exemplu, ei au a\u015fezat aparatul \u00eentr-o camer\u0103 special\u0103 ce nu avea niciun c\u00e2mp magnetic, \u00eencerc\u00e2nd s\u0103 elimine orice posibil\u0103 vibra\u0163ie. Au a\u015fezat giroscopul pe vertical\u0103, c\u00e2nd cu fa\u0163a \u00een jos, c\u00e2nd cu fa\u0163a \u00een sus, verific\u00e2nd simplele efecte gravita\u0163ionale. De asemenea, ei au testat aparatul \u00een vid pentru a elimina influen\u0163a curen\u0163ilor de aer, folosind dou\u0103 sisteme de m\u0103surare a sc\u0103derii \u00een greutate.
